To explore the gene regulatory mechanisms involved in the metabolic control of cardiac fatty
acid oxidative flux, the expression of muscle-type carnitine palmitoyltransferase I (M-CPT I)
was characterized in primary cardiac myocytes in culture following exposure to the long-
