SNAPs (soluble NSF attachment proteins) are cytoplasmic proteins that bind to specific
membrane receptors and mediate the membrane binding of NSF (N-ethylmaleimide-
sensitive factor), a protein that is required for membrane fusion reactions. Three synaptic
